Top model, volunteer & beauty queen – this 24 year old has literally seen and done it all. With her exotic looks from her Indian father & Irish mother, the 5"10 stunner was always destined for the catwalk. Having spent her life between Malaysia & Australia, this jetsetter flew just a bit further when at the age of 18, found herself modeling in the high-fashion capital, London.
But having 'walked the walk' there for the likes of YSL, Emmanuel Ungaro and Gucci– she realized that there was a 'different path' ahead of her. Always wanting to do more, to be more, Deborah set up her own charitable foundation in Malaysia, Open Doors. Despite the hectic life of university & fashion shoots, Open Doors raised RM10, 000 and changed more then a few lives at the Chow Kit Children's activity centre.
In 2007, just a few months after graduating with a degree in 'Political Science & Economics' from the University of Queensland, Deborah took things a step further and entered the Miss Malaysia World competition back in her homeland Malaysia. Noted for her articulation, wit and glamour – she won the crown and found herself a household name overnight.
In November 2007, Deborah set off to Sanya, China, to compete in the Miss World pageant against 106 other beauty queens. Despite intense competition, her hard work paid off as she reached the semi-finals; becoming one of the top fifteen. This made her the most successful Miss Malaysia in over a decade, and it’s no wonder that today Deborah is in high demand. Gracing the covers of glossy magazines like Bazaar, running Open Doors & now the Childrens' rights advocate for WORLD VISION Malaysia – Deborah Henry is a rare mix of beauty, brains & heart.
